There are not many food traditions in my family, so the traditions I can think of stand out a great deal. The first tradition dealing with food that I thought of was how my mom always prepares cinnamon rolls for Christmas morning. For as long as I can remember there has always been freshly baked cinnamon rolls in the morning on Christmas day. The night before I will walk into the kitchen and see them teasing me as the dough rises and I am unable to eat them.
The funny part about this is that I don't even really like cinnamon rolls. I mean, don't get me wrong, they're pretty good, but they aren't something I would be excited to eat any other day of the year. The tradition has more of an impact on me than the cinnamon rolls themselves. It may have started out being about the cinnamon rolls. Over the years the ritual of the tradition itself has become the most important part of the activity.

Community
Working out is a community. Everyone exercising at the gym is kind of similar to Nike's idea of a community since it is an individual activity in a lot of cases. Everyone is not necessarily always sticking together. This group of people is a community because they all share the same views in exercising to better themselves. Them wanting to exercise is what holds them together. They might share other things in common but working out is their community during that time. They could meet new people and start expanding off into other communities but the activity of working out is their main interest.
I just recently started working out so I don't really fit in too well yet. I just thought it seemed like something that would be good to start doing. I'm beginning to enjoy it!
